Is Animated Equity a Non-Profit?
We realize that our objectives sound more like those of a non-profit company than a typical for-profit company. We have an interesting take on this. We believe that all companies should have a life in both the socially, environmentally responsible world and in the world of profit.
It seems strange that non-profit companies must depend upon for-profit companies which may have objectives that are adverse to the very values the non-profit stands for. What if all companies had the objective of acting in a socially and environmentally responsible way?
In order to contribute to the world economy we must produce something of value to others; at the same time we should expect to have some personal benefit for our work. The trick is to do our work in a way that helps rather than hinders others and the planet. We think this is possible in all but the most destructive of companies.
How long has Animated Equity been around?
Animated Equity LLC was formed as a spin-off of a software research and development company founded in 1997. Our official starting year with the name Animated Equity is 2003.

If you have heard that we were one of the first companies to create and develop data animation, that is correct. We wrote some of the original data animation patents.
What is Data Animation?
Data animation is the process of transforming complex and dynamic information into concise animated visual images that continually change to reflect changes in incoming data.
